Yes, da Bergamo-not di Bergamo-meaning I’ve lived here for more than six years now. Before that, I spent almost half a century 🙈 in my native Budapest, mostly working as an Italian teacher and always being an enthusiastic fan of all things Italian. 🇮🇹
Life, however, suddenly changes when you least expect it. In 2019, I met my true love, who happens to be Italian and was born and raised right here in Bergamo. The following year, in 2020, I packed up my daughter and my black cat. 🐈‍⬛ With a yell of ‘Watch out, Bergamo, we’re coming!”, we landed on Italian soil.
I’m eternally grateful for whatever divine force led me to this decision. Bergamo is not only a beautiful city with a truly historical old town, but it’s also a wonderful place to live. It is, in short, a joy to call this city my home. 💖
